Monitoring of Arms and Armies
There are seven Maoist divisional cantonment sites with 21 satellite camps.UNMIN monitors maintain a 24 hour presence at the seven divisional sites, where the Maoist weapons are being stored and monitored. Monitoring teams conduct mobile visits to the 21 satellite camps.

The Nepalese Army remains in barracks except for activities agreed under the terms of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement. It will store an equivalent number of weapons to that stored by Maoist Army and these will be kept under 24 hour UNMIN monitoring. UNMIN monitors also conduct mobile visits to Nepalese Army barracks and installations.

The Joint Monitoring Coordinating Committee (JMCC), chaired by UNMIN and comprising membership of the Nepalese Army and People’s Liberation Army, is the mechanism for coordinating all decisions on the process of monitoring arms and armies.
