Aimed at enhancing humanitarian and development activities in Nepal, a series of coordination forums exist both in Kathmandu and the regions. Each of these forums enables I/NGOS and UN agencies working in Nepal to meet regularly, share information on issues related to security and access, programmatic priorities and strategies to improve the quality of programme carried out throughout the country. In the meetings and events schedules you will find a calendar to keep you informed well in advance of those meetings you may wish to attend.

HUMANITARIAN COORDINATION MEETINGS
HCT Principal Meetings
The HCT, along with the Executive Committee on Humanitarian Affairs, assists the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator with strategic coordination and consultation mechanisms among key humanitarian actors. It is a unique inter-agency forum for coordination, policy development and decision-making involving the key UN and non-UN humanitarian partners. Members of the IASC are selected UN Agencies and INGOs, the Red Cross movement and the World Bank. It is held every two weeks or whenever the situation requires. More information...
HCT Operational Meetings
The HCT Operational Meeting is chaired by UN-OCHA. It is organized twice a month.The Cluster leads,AIN Members and UN Agencies gathers in Operational IASC Meeting.
CDRC
As laid out in the Natural Calamity (Relief) Act 1982, the responsibility of responding to disasters is with the Nepal Government. As a result, disaster management administrative structure is in effect in Nepal.In the event of a declared emergency, the Disaster Section within the Ministry of Home Affairs is responsible for the coordination of relief efforts at national and international levels. In a State Emergency, the Disaster Section calls together the Central Disaster Relief Committee (CDRC) whose members work together in a combined effort to coordinate the international humanitarian response.

SECTORAL AND CLUSTER MEETING
In 2006, the United Nations General Assembly adopted resolution 60/124, strengthening of the coordination of emergency humanitarian assistance of the United Nations. Member states called upon humanitarian actors to improve the humanitarian response to natural and man-made disasters and complex emergencies by strengthening the humanitarian response capacities at all levels, by strengthening the coordination of humanitarian assistance at the field level, including with national authorities of the affected State, as appropriate, and by enhancing transparency, performance and accountability.As a way forward, the Cluster Approach was established to jointly meet these needs in partnership with all humanitarian actors. Basic Operating Guidelines(BOGs)
The Basic Operating Guidelines (BOGs) brings together field-based agencies from the UN, donors, INGOs and the Red Cross movement to coordinate the implementation of the BOGs, namely access and implementation challenges of tprogrammes in the field and joint advocacy. The Association of International NGOs (AIN)
Established in the year 1996, the Association of International NGOs - AIN is an informal group of INGOs working in Nepal. CAAFAG Working Group
CAAFAG Working Group is a forum to discuss, analyze protection issues, to elaborate and coordinate comprehensive and harmonized responses for the release, return and reintegration of children associated with armed forces and armed groups(CAAFAG).This meeting is chaired by UNICEF. Security Council Resolution 1612
This group deals with monitoring and reporting of child violations in armed conflict.It is led by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) with participation of the Red Cross movement, international and local NGOs. It is an ad-hoc meeting.

Geographic Information Group (GIG)
This meeting brings together organizations involved in geographic information activities. Members are from the UN Agencies, Government, NGOs and Nepali universities. This working group provides a platform for information sharing, data standards and technical expertise.See the TOR of the meeting. This meeting is held every month.

CONTACT GROUP MEETING
The Contact Group facilitated by Ocha brings together field-based agencies from the UN, donors, INGOs and the Red Cross movement to share information on security, the operating environment, emerging humanitarian needs (new assessments) and responses. The meeting is usually held on a monthly basis. The meeting starts with a security briefing from the UN Department of Safety and Security.
