Koshi Floods 2008


On August 18th the Koshi River broke through an eastern retaining wall roughly 10 Km north of the East West Highway. The waters have flooded significant portions of the following VDCs of Sunsari District: Shreeharipur, Shreepurjavdi, Lokahi, Kusahapaschim, Dhuskighat, Bashntapur, Narshingha and Madhuban VDCs are also affected, but to a lesser extent. The East West Highway is currently impassable due to flood waters.

The information provided below has been compiled by OCHA. Efforts have been made to verify the information, though there are bound to be gaps. This is a ‘live' document and will be constantly updated, based on information we receive from your respective organizations.
